A traveling brigade of bears traverses the golden coast. The installation’s first stop since Washington, D.C. was Los Angeles on June 20th. I had the pleasure of working with multiple Ukrainian support organizations in installing the project on the steps before the LA City Hall park. A busy area with many passersby taking in the view, asking questions, or even driving by and honking in support.
The installation has a bright future with 2 more California-based stops, aimed at garnering bipartisan attention and support. With California’s redistricting, it is now more important than ever before to make our values heard to new and changing representatives. While the teddy bears’ next travels aren’t clear after California, be certain to reach out to the activism groups in your area and bring them to your city.
Support comes in many ways, either actively calling your congresspeople or simply telling others about the ongoing humanitarian issues. Issues which continuesly worsen without active engagement and effort to end them.
